What's the key difference between shipbuilding steel sections and ordinary structural steel?

The distinction is fundamental. Our steel sections for shipbuilding are engineered under stringent marine classification rules (ABS, LR, DNV). This mandates superior impact toughness at low temperatures (as low as -60°C for Arctic grades), tighter control over chemical composition (especially sulfur & phosphorus to enhance weldability and resistance to brittle fracture), and specific mechanical properties to withstand dynamic ocean loads. Ordinary structural steel lacks these rigorous certifications and is unfit for critical marine applications.

Can you supply materials with specific classification society approval, like ABS or DNV?

Absolutely. We hold ongoing certification and maintain mill relationships approved by all major societies, including ABS, DNV, LR, BV, and CCS. Upon request, we can provide materials with the specific approval stamps and accompanying Mill Test Certificates (MTCs) that are fully traceable to the heat and batch numbers, as required for shipyard audit trails.

What documentation do you provide with the shipment?

Every shipment is accompanied by a comprehensive documentation package. This includes the original Mill Test Certificate (MTC/COS) compliant with EN 10204 3.1/3.2, commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and importantly, the Material Test Certificate from the Classification Society (if applicable). This ensures complete transparency and smooth clearance at your end.

Do you offer custom cutting and processing services?

Yes, we provide value-added processing to save you time and cost. Our facilities can perform precision plasma or flame cutting to your specified lengths and profiles. We also offer drilling and welding preparation services. Simply provide your technical drawings, and we will deliver components ready for installation, minimizing waste and handling in your yard.
