Classification Of AR Steel Plate

Classified by the content of alloying elements

1. Low alloy AR steel
This type of steel plate mainly enhances its wear resistance by adding a small amount of alloying elements such as chromium, molybdenum, and nickel.
Common low alloy AR steel plates include NM360, NM400, etc., which are suitable for medium wear environments.
2. High alloy AR steel
This type of steel plate contains a relatively high content of alloying elements and usually has higher hardness and wear resistance.
Common high-alloy abrasion resistant steel plates include the HARDOX series (such as HARDOX400, HARDOX500, etc.) and the JFE-EH series, etc., which are suitable for high-wear and heavy-load environments.

Classified by heat treatment process

1. Quenched and tempered abrasion resistant steel plates
This type of steel plate undergoes quenching treatment to enhance hardness, and then tempering treatment is carried out to eliminate quenching stress, thereby improving toughness and weldability. It is widely used in the wear parts of industries such as mining, metallurgy and cement.
2. Hot-rolled abrasion resistant steel plate
This type of steel plate is produced through hot rolling process and has certain strength and wear resistance, but its hardness and wear resistance may be slightly lower. It is suitable for some occasions where wear resistance is not highly demanded.

Classified by microstructure

1. Martensitic abrasion esistant steel plate
The microstructure of this type of steel plate is mainly martensite, which features high hardness and wear resistance. It is widely used in high-wear parts such as the buckets of excavators and the hammer heads of crushers.
2. Bainitic abrasion resistant steel plate
The microstructure of this type of steel plate is mainly bainite, which features high strength and toughness while maintaining a certain degree of wear resistance. It is suitable for applications that need to withstand both impact and wear simultaneously.
Advantageous Features
high temperature figure
High wear resistance
Abrasion resistance plate has excellent wear resistance, its wear layer hardness is high, the wear resistance is much higher than ordinary steel and low alloy steel plate, and even the wear resistance of high chromium cast iron is relatively low. This feature enables it to effectively extend the service life of the machine and equipment, reduce the frequency of maintenance and replacement, and thus reduce production costs.
luminance figure
Good impact performance
It has a double-layer metal structure, and high bonding strength between the metallurgical bonding layer and the substrate. This structure makes the wear-resistant layer will not fall off when subjected to strong operating conditions such as vibration and impact, and can maintain good stability and durability.
equipment manufacturing figure
Good heat resistance
It has strong stability under high temperature conditions and can meet the requirements of use at higher temperatures (such as 500℃ or even 1200℃). This makes this steel has a wide range of application prospects in industrial fields that need to withstand high temperatures, such as metallurgy, electric power and other industries.

Good weldability
AR400 & AR500 Steel Plate shows good plasticity and weldability when welding, can better adapt to different production environments, convenient for various processing and connection operations.
